Why you first choose Akuna Care?

Your website was very helpful in determining whether I should send Kahlua to board there. The activities and treats you have on offer are reassuring to me that Kahlua will be treated as your own and settle in well. It was a home away from home for her.

Why you continued to use our service?

Kahlua was able to enjoy the same treats there as she does at home. She was healthy and happy due to the interaction with your carers and other dogs. Cleanliness is a big issue for me, and your kennels and grass runs were maintained well. She loved it there so much, that she wasn't too concerned with seeing me, she wanted to run back with the driver and go back to Akuna!

What is your favourite Kahlua story?

My four year old shepherd, Kyza, would have to be the smartest dog I know.
I think he has a sixth sense, because whenever he is home alone, he enters my sisters room, before unlocking the child barrier, and sits on her bed, couch and carpet floor.
When she returns from school, she enters the house and sees him walking out of her room as if nothing happened. He knows when she is about to return from school, and walks out of her room at the same time like clockwork.
My puppy Kahlua loves food, and one night I was making hot dogs and she was sitting next to my feet smelling the cooking. I finished cooking and wrapped the spare hot dog in glad wrap. I left it on the bench and started cleaning up. She must have grabbed the hot dog when I wasn't looking and ran outside with it. Although I went outside and noticed the glad wrap on the grass, it didn't register with me that it was the hot dog I wrapped up.
The next morning I tried finding the hot dog in the fridge but it wasn't there. It finally came to me that the glad wrap I picked up last night was from the hot dog. I went outside to find some evidence, but she had finished every crumb. That's the last time I leave food on the bench!
