Letter from Wendell

Hi,
I'm Wendell (the Sailor dog). We Newfys are supposed to be named after ships or sailors - like Scuppers or Sinbad, or some such.
But no! - they named me after a Rugby League/Union player, because they said "I'm big, I'm fast and I take it up all day" (Yes, I do).
I am, I've discovered a pretty good winger, I would surprise you with my speed and my 'goose step' when I exercise with my 'littler, faster' friends at Akuna Kennels.
I've just come home from two and a half months with my various mates, because my 'alphas' went away overseas.
I really wanted to get back into the van when Marcus brought me home because I knew I was going home to a much quieter life than I was having at Akuna.
But, seriously, the treats are better at home (she's such a softy!), but there's not many mates in my neighbourhood, 'cause they take one look at me - I'm so big, they tell me - (they're all little fluffy terriers) so I like Akuna better. Especially because I live in the 'Hotel' when I stay, I've got music and a fan and everything! And sometimes they even have other BIG mates for me to play with!
I must say, the girls brushed and bathed me beautifully when I was there for my 'long stay'. I came home looking lovely for my jet lagged 'alpha mum' (not as beautifully as she's doing it now, but heck she's my owner and she really, really loves me, poor soul!). I just heard my alpha talking on the phone tonight and she's sending me up there again in September. Can you believe it!
So happy!
Can't wait!
